Gearing up for Top Of The Table – 5 Things I’ve Learned from Sharing My Keynote on Stages All Over the World This Year

In a world that’s gone digital-crazy, where screens dictate our lives, there’s still something magical about standing on a stage, addressing a live audience.

It’s like taking a step back in time, where words hang in the air, not just pixels on a screen. In a world where information bombards us non-stop, there’s real power in face-to-face, heart-to-heart conversations.

So, in this blog, let me take you on a journey through my experiences of speaking on stages worldwide. I’m going to share some key lessons I’ve picked up from talking to diverse audiences around the globe.

1. Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone:

First things first, stepping onto stages worldwide isn’t as comfy as my old pajamas. It’s like willingly jumping out of an airplane with a parachute you’ve never used before. I used to be terrified of public speaking. I mean, we’re talking about the number one fear for many Americans. Surprisingly, it even outranks the fear of death!

But over the years, I’ve made it my mission to conquer this fear. And here’s the twist: it doesn’t disappear. Nope. Instead, it just becomes a part of the journey. It’s like an old friend who reminds me that I’m still pushing my limits.

2. Sharing is Caring (and Abundance):

Now, picture this: you’ve got a treasure chest of knowledge, and you’re hesitant to share it. You fear you’re arming your competition with enough ammo to launch a coup on your business. Well, that’s one way to see it.

But here’s my take: Sharing is like planting seeds. You scatter your wisdom out there, and what happens? It grows!

Plus, when you open up and share, you invite others to do the same. You wouldn’t believe the insights I’ve gained from audience members sharing their journeys, their stories, their challenges with me.

3. Back to Basics:

You know how they say, “Sometimes you have to go back to move forward”? Well, speaking on those stages has a similar effect. It’s like going back to your roots, revisiting the habits and practices that made you successful in the first place.

Every time I prepare for a talk, I revisit my process. It’s like a jog down memory lane, reminding me of all the small things that built the big picture. It’s easy to forget those habits in the daily hustle, but these stages bring me back to them.

4. Surrounded by Smarties:

Ever heard the phrase, “If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room”? Well, I’ve taken it to heart. Instead of being the big shot on stage, I often find myself surrounded by seasoned professionals who’ve been around the block.

And you know what? It’s brilliant! It doesn’t just make me better at what I do; it elevates the quality of my presentations.

5. Global Handshakes and Virtual Hugs:

Lastly, the power of human connection transcends borders. A single idea, a shared moment, can connect people from opposite sides of the planet. It’s like the universal language of inspiration.

After speaking in so many places, I’ve met advisors who’ve found something in my talks that resonated with them.

They applied these insights to their own work and, surprise, it worked wonders! Today, we’re connected on various platforms, from LinkedIn to WhatsApp, and I’m genuinely invested in their success.

In a world where secrets are hoarded and competition can be cutthroat, standing on a stage and baring your wisdom is like offering a warm, hearty handshake.

It’s like saying, “Let’s grow together!” The lessons aren’t just in what I say; they’re in the lives we touch and the connections we build. So, let’s keep sharing, growing, and connecting. It’s what makes this adventure so darn exciting!
